The Highway 18 bridge between Prairie du Chien and Marquette, Iowa was closed for about three hours on Sunday afternoon, after somebody claimed to have seen something fall off the bridge. A bridge inspector with the Wisconsin DOT says a long piece of concrete apparently fell into the river. During the closing, traffic had to be diverted either north to Lansing or south to Dubuque. The bridge is almost 40 years old. It had to be closed for several months in 1981, when structural weaknesses were found.

Bed Bug Lawsuit
MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (AP) Two people have filed a lawsuit on behalf of more than 50 residents and former residents of a Mount Pleasant apartment complex, saying they've dealt with health-related problems because of a long-running bedbug infestation. The lawsuit filed last month claims the owners of Maple Leaf Apartments failed to eliminate the infestation despite numerous requests from tenants.
