Lax Cop Hurt By Driver Running Red Light
A two-car crash on Rose Street in La Crosse last night led to a hospital visit by a city policeman.
A driver ran a red light at Rose and Monitor Streets, and collided with an unmarked SUV driven by Officer Tyler Pond. The accident happened around 10 p-m. Pond reported a possible neck injury, and was treated at a hospital. The second driver got a cut on the finger...and a ticket for causing the crash.

Audrey Kader might have to face a recall election early next year...so she's happy to get a prestigious community award right now.
The La Crosse city council president is among this year's winners of the Iverson-Freking Award for public service. Kader addressed the recall effort while accepting the award today at the Bethany St. Joseph Care Center, saying the recognition could 'not come at a better time.' Pastor Kent Johnson and Franciscan Sister Kathy Stuttgen are the other Iverson-Freking honorees. More than 60 people have received the award since it was established in the 1980's. It's named after businessman Carl Iverson and Bishop Frederick Freking.

He's a La Crosse Santa Claus who's getting ready to raise money for the city warming center...
Robert Bailey is a volunteer at the center on West Avenue, and he aims to collect cash before Christmas, starting Friday night. How Bailey plans to raise the cash is to ring bells downtown, and sleep outside for several nights until his goal is met. Bailey says he was motivated to do this following the death last week of Mark Fuchsteiner...found outdoors in the cold a block away from the warming center.
