Bertrand Chosen For Onalaska Council Seat
The Onalaska city council chooses its newest member...
Former naval officer Harvey Bertrand was elected from a group of four candidates last night. Bertrand will serve until an election next April, filling the 3rd district seat recently vacated by Kim Smith. All four applicants for the council post spoke to aldermen at last night's meeting, and then the council voted separately on each candidate in random order. Bertrand was the last candidate put to a vote, and the only one to get a three-vote majority from the council.
