Feehan, Shilling Trade Charges On Arrest Mailing
It didn't take long for a campaign flyer accusing a state Senate candidate of a long-ago crime to come up in a U-W-L forum on Tuesday night...
Republican Bill Feehan mentioned it in his opening statement, calling the mailing by Senator Jennifer Shilling's campaign 'vile.' Feehan was arrested for battery against an ex-girlfriend 12 years ago. Democrat Shilling has defended making the charge public, whileFeehan says it's 'sad' that politics in the 32nd District Senate race has 'descended to this level.'
Later in the forum, Feehan accused Shilling of making a false accusation that he was actively involved in recruiting a 'fake Democrat' to run in the recall race that Shilling won last year.
