Murders Of Shop Owner And Son Being Investigated
Little new information early today about the shooting deaths of the owner of May's Photo in La Crosse and his teenage son.
Sources say Paul Petras and his son A.J. were shot and killed on Saturday afternoon inside the family's business on Main Street, in what may have started as a robbery. The victims apparently were found hours after the crime. The 400 block of Main Street was shut down to traffic for hours after police arrived.
Police Seeking Info On Double Murder At May's Photo
Police vehicles and crime scene tape kept people from traveling on one block of Main Street in La Crosse on Saturday night and Sunday.
Two murders took place inside May's Photo shop Saturday afternoon, and police have given out limited information about the shootings of shop owner Paul Petras and his 19-year-old son A-J. Robbery might have been a motive. Captain Robert Lawrence wants witnesses who noticed unusual things in the Main Street area that afternoon to call the police dispatch, 608-785-5962, or the Crime-Stoppers line, 784-TIPS. May's Photo put on a photography class shortly before the shootings. These are the first murders in the city of La Crosse since the shooting death of a young woman at an apartment building last March.
