Man Pinned By Tree
A Monroe County man has life threatening injuries after a tree fell on him last night. The tree hit him in the middle of the back and pinned him. Everts was transported to Tomah Memorial hospital and later transferred to Gundersen Lutheran hospital by Med Link Air with life threatening injuries. The accident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.

Three Small Drug Baggies Lead to Arrests for Dealing
It wasn't much heroin that La Crosse police found in a van during a traffic stop. But it was enough to charge a couple guys in the van with dealing. 52 year-old Darnell Hamilton and 46 year-old Dennis Mickelson, both from La Crosse, have been charged with heroin dealing. Cops say they got suspicious when they pulled the van over and the two guys started getting fidgety. They say Ralph the drug dog sniffed out the van and hit in several spots. Lots of hidden compartments in the van, say police. But they didn't have to look far to find two baggies of heroin and a bag of crack. Those were just sitting on the floor in the front.
Semi Roll Shuts Down Highway Sunday
High winds knocked over a semi-tractor trailer going down the highway during a thunder storm in western Wisconsin's Trempealeau County Sunday.
The Trempealeau County Sheriff's Department says the resulting crash left the semi stretched across a bridge, causing the closure of State Road 93 between Eau Claire and La Crosse for about two and a half hours Sunday afternoon. The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries but refused treatment. His truck's trailer unit was empty.
Parts of southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin are forecast to possibly suffer severe weather Sunday night into Memorial Day.
