Click It Or Ticket Works REAL Well
During a recent Monroe County Sheriff’s Department Click It or Ticket mobilization event, 6 people were handed tickets for not wearing their seatbelts, the primary function of the mobilization. But what others were nailed for really made the event worthwhile. Deputies handed out 39 speeding violations, made 6 drunken driving and 2 drug arrests, made 3 felony arrests and locked up 3 others for warrants. Sheriff, Pete Quirin, said that the goal during Click It or Ticket and for the rest of year is not to write more tickets but to convince drivers and passengers to buckle up every trip, every time.
Koula Jury Begins Deliberations
Jurors in the Eric Koula trial received the case at about 4 p.m. on Monday, and have retired for the night. They had spent most of the day listening to closing arguments from DA Tim Gruenke and chief defense attorney James Koby. Koula is charged with killing his parents and forging a check from his father's bank account.
Kapanke Suprised At Crowds At BASS Tourny
La Crosse Loggers owner, Dan Kapanke, was at the Bassmasters Elite Series tournament at Freedom park all four days. His take on the tournament that has not been here since 1984?
Kapanke and his staff were selling Loggers dogs at Freedom Park. One of the worlds top anglers, Skeet Reese, threw out the first pitch at the Loggers game Saturday night.
Jasper, Texas Angler Claims Top Prize
Jasper, Texas is pretty proud of their very own Todd Faircloth today. As he ventures to the Bassmasters Elite Tourny in Green Bay this week...he takes with him a $100 thousand paycheck. That, after winning the Elite Tourny in La Crosse held over the weekend. Fairlcoth said that he, in no way, thought he would win after a rough day Sunday.
And he did just that. A three and a half pounder with 15 minutes to go in the tourny. He topped Cliff Pace by over a pound.
Top Angler Van Damm Not Happy With DNR Green Bay Ruling
Todd Faircloth, the winner of the Bassmasters Elite Tourny held in La Crosse this weekend, will take his $100 thousand winning check to Green bay with him. An area that some are not familiar with. One that has been there before, Kevin Van Damm, the best angler ever to hit the waters, says he WAS excited about the event.....before the state got involved.
Van Damm says they would love to come back to the La Crosse again....as for other parts of Wisconsin...that may not happen. Van Damm finished 13th in the Elite tourny....1 spot shy of making the top 12 and fishing one more day.
