Two people have been arrested in Tomah, in connection with an attempted murder in Black River Falls...
Daniel Triplett and Dreama Harvey were picked up in the parking lot of the Tomah Wal-Mart on Saturday, after Tomah police received a tip about Triplett. The Black River police believe that Triplett stabbed another person in that city. Police have not said what Harvey's connection might be.
Bangor Post Office Campaign Collects Hundreds Of Names

A petition drive to keep the Bangor Post Office open has gathered more than 400 signatures from people who want the permanent post office building re-opened. The post office at Bangor was suddenly closed for repairs in January, and there's no indication from the landlord when things might be fixed. Many of its regular customers worry that a temporary closure might give the Postal Service an excuse to shut down the building completely.
Jackson County man Guilty Of Rape, Incest
A Jackson County jury found a town of Franklin man guilty of rape and incest for abusing a female relative over a 19 year period. 41 year old Rodney Tollefson now faces up to 1,200 years in prison. Tollefson was found guility on 36 counts including 11 charges of incest, 13 charges of second degree sexual assault with the use of force and three charges of aided first degree sexual assault. The victim told investigators assaults occurred between 1995 and December 2010. 54 year old Gary Tollefson, who is accused of raping the girl with his brother, currently faces 18 charges. 30 year old Jarrod Peterson, who said he was compelled by Rodney to rape the victim, faces two charges of second degree sexual assault. 22 year old Philip Ronning previously was sentenced to 30 years in prison for another incident in which he and Rodney took the girl to a secluded area and assaulted her.
La Crosse County Gets Healthier
Of the 72 counties in Wisconsin, La Crosse County was ranked 23rd in Health Outcomes, 4th with Health Factors and 5th highest in the category of health behavior rankings. All good news says Catherine Kolkmeier, Director of the La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium.
The La Crosse Medical Health Science Consortium, a collaboration of healthcare and education institutions in the Coulee Region, has mobilized dozens of organizations and individuals in the region to focus on improving health behaviors, with an ultimate goal of La Crosse County being the healthiest in the state by 2015.
