Grimm's brought plenty of new eyes to the show, especially among his former instructors at UWL
Karyn Quinn's a senior Lecturer in the music department. She's also from Grimm's hometown and recruited him to come to UWL, where he was a featured talent for various groups at the school. Grimm also performed locally in the groups Three Beers til Dubuque and Shoeless Revolution.
Stranger Helps Himself to Beer
There's making yourself at home and then there's what Thomas Sullivan did this week-end. La Crosse police say a guy on the southside found Sullivan sitting on his couch at about bartime Saturday morning. Guy doesn't know Sullivan, but there he was. Sitting. Laughing. Drinking a beer from the fridge. And then Sullivan gut surly with cops when they showed up. They said the highly inebriated 42 year-old acted as if he'd done nothing wrong. He faces a couple of charges. Including one for resisting arrest.
Where Will New Boat Fees Go
The City of La Crosse Park's and Rec Department installed 4 new boat landing payment boxes yesterday....people will pay $3 in they live in the city and $5 if they don't this year. So where are the honor boxes?
Jay Odegaard says all the monies collected will go into a seperate fund and will be used for building new docks...maintaining current docks.....placing garbage dumspters at the landings and re-striping some of the parking lots around the 4 landings.
Sparta Shooting Victim In Court Today At 1:00
A man who aimed a rifle at a Sparta Police Officer last month will make his first court appearance today at 1pm. 19 year old Jacob Olsen of Sparta was booked into the Monroe County Jail Friday after he was released from Gundersen Lutheran in La Crosse. Olson was recovering from gunshot wounds to the chest and abdomen.
He was shot by Officer Booker Ferguson, who had responded to a 911 hang up call. After several attempts to get Olsen to the put the rifle down the night of January 19th, Booker fired at the teen. Booker had been on administrative leave since the shooting, as standard procedure, but came off of the leave last week.
Olsen will face a bond hearing today on charges of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and pointing a firearm at a law officer. He could face additional charges if D.A. Dan Cary sees fit. Cary is waiting for a Department of Justice investigation of the shooting. He will then decide what charges would be filed.
Johnson Shows Support For Walker
Senator Ron Johnson says he has stuck by Governor Scott Walker and his decision's from last year...and will continue to do so. He says if you look at the fiscal mess the state was in...he can fully relate with what the national budget looks like now.
Johnson says he wished sometimes it was as easy to do what Walker did with Wisconsin's budget.......compared to what it takes to agree on a national budget.
