Riverfest Is On As Scheduled
2 of the biggest events at Riverfest, The Chileda Run/Walk on Saturday and tonight's Walk a MIle in Her Shoes events are both still going on as planned. Tammy Klein talks about both events.
She says they will modify the events if need be. That depends on the temps and the partcicpants in the events.
Senior Breakfast At Riverfest Being Moved To Friday
At least one event at Riverfest is being affected by the heat...
The senior breakfast planned for this morning from 7 to 9 a-m is being postponed until tomorrow, when there could be a break in the hot weather. The breakfast will happen Friday morning at the Pepsi Community Tent in Riverside Park.
Burn Ban In Holmen
The Holmen Fire Department has imposed a burn ban until further notice...
It affects an area of 84 square miles, including a large part of Lake Onalaska. Fire chief Doug Schober says open burning, including campfires and burn barrels, will be prohibited until the Holmen area gets significant rain for a day or two. Limits will be put on outdoor cooking fires.

Democrat Tammy Baldwin stands out as the one U-S Senate candidate in Wisconsin supporting the health care law. Baldwin campaigned at Riverfest in La Crosse on the 4th of July. She claims that the four Republicans running against her for Herb Kohl's Senate seat would all like to overturn the court ruling and repeal Obamacare...which is one reason she hopes to win the election.
