Fishing Tourney NOT Coming To La Crosse
Due to Coast Guard regulations restricting how volunteers can be reimbursed for their assistance, the National Guard FLW College Fishing tournament originally scheduled for Thursday on the Mississippi River in La Crosse has been moved to Sunday, August 5th on Rend Lake.

Gow Reacts To Penn State Ruling
Penn State loses 10 football scholarships per year and the ability to play in a bowl game for four years. It also gets fined $60 million, and all football wins from 1998-2011 are being vacated. All due to the event surrounding former coach, Jerry Sandusky and the child abuse scandal. We talked with Penn State Alum and UW- La Crosse Chancellor, Joe Gow, about what the trickle down effect is on his campus.
Penn State must also adhere to new rules and policies put in place by the NCAA and will be put on probation for 5 years.
WWII History Comes To La Crosse Airport
In honor of our WWII Veterans, the Collings Foundation is bringing the national Wings of Freedom tour to La Crosse today.
Hunter Chaney says the tour, here until Wednesday, featuresa a vintage Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress, Consolidated B-24 Liberator and North American P-51 Mustang, all on display in La Crosse at La Crosse Municipal Airport. Visitors are invited to explore the aircraft inside and out - $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12 is requested for access to up close viewing and tours through the inside of the aircraft. You can also ride in one of these war machines as well. WIZM'S Dan Deicher, whose afraid of heights, and Mitch Reynolds, will be going up in the B-17 later today.
