$4? $5? AAA Wisconsin Says, Hard to Predict
Westby Hires New Super
Chuck Norton is the current Director of Special Education in the Westby Area School District. He moved to the area in 2010 after accepting the position in Westby.
He spent 15 years in customer relations and management positions for an automotive company in California, before moving back to Wisconsin in 2000. Looks like a great move......and now a title change.
Norton was named the district's new Superintendent last night........to the liking of retiring super, Mike Murphy.
Norton beat out two other candidates and starts his new job July 1st.
After Fire...Loggers Should Be Ready To Go
Fire investigators, last August, ruled that a fire that caused extensive damage to a baseball field was an act of arson. 8 months later......work to reconstruct portions of Copeland Park are beginning.
The third base dugout was heavily damaged, along with a large part of the grandstand along the third base line. Lacrosse Loggers GM, Chris Goodell, says work has started to replace burned out portions of grandstands and a new concrete dugout is being built to the replace the wooden one.
Investigators believe the fire was started in a corner of the dugout where paper, plastic, and a towel were started on fire. No one was ever caught for starting the fire. Goodell says all of the construction should be done by the Loggers home opener, June 4th
The fire caused $75 thousand in damages.

A driver from Caledonia did not live very long after a semi smashed into her car from behind on the interstate yesterday.

Clean-up Takes Awhile After Interstate Crash
Clean up was continuing through early this afternoon on the interstate in Onalaska after a semi versus car accident. Apparently one injury in the late morning accident although we have yet to hear of the severity of that injury. The semi appeared to have rear-ended the car. A haz-mat team was called to the scene and east bound I-90 was closed for a time and reduced to one lane each way for a few hours.
