La Crosse Man Leads Police on High Speed Chase
A La Crosse guy faces several charges after leading police on a high speed chase Sunday night. Cops say 34 year-old Jamie Loftus was extremely drunk when they finally stopped him on Mormon Coulee Road. It was a ten minute chase that started on Main street and Losey boulevard and involved Loftus running from police in his white Chevy at up to 80 miles an hour. A cop spun Loftus around on the Mormon Coulee overpass and several officers had to drag him from his car. Fifth OWI for Loftus. They say he blew a .30 on the breathalyzer when they booked him into jail.
