Job Numbers and Unemployment Percentage Both Down in Wisconsin
Job numbers continue to shrink in Wisconsin. But so does the state's unemployment rate. New numbers from the state today shows that job numbers decreased in the state by nearly ten thousand from September to October on a seasonally adjusted basis. At the same time, the state's unemployment rate dipped just slightly to 7.7%. Down a tenth from September to October. Opening Day Could Involve Cougar Sighting
Things to do if you're a deer hunter in the woods tomorrow and see a cougar reported to be prowling about in the woods in Western Wisconsin.
1. Take a picture. The DNR would love some more evidence of the big cats in the state. 2. Hope that it wanders off on its own or make some noise to scare it off; cougars are pretty wary of humans. 3. Be thankful that you don't look like a cougar treat dressed in blaze orange. Things not to do:

Stratman Found NOT Guilty Of Homicide Charge
A "not guilty" verdict for Trisha Stratman...
After about three hours of deliberation on Thursday, a La Crosse County jury has acquitted the former sheriff's officer of negligent homicide. Stratman was driving her squad car to a police call in Holmen when she collided with a car driven by teenager Brandon Jennings. The 16-year-old Holmen student was killed in the crash. Stratman's attorney said the collision was an accident, while state prosecutors portrayed Stratman as unnecessarily endangering the safety of others by driving about 100 miles an hour through a red light to assist in handling a bar fight.
Onalaska Thief Busted
An Onalaska man was arrested this week and charged with numerous counts of burglary and theft. Twenty year old Jonathan Huber was arrested Tuesday and charged with 5 counts of burglary, 4 counts of theft and residential burglary. On Monday, an Onalaska Officer reported that his personal vehicle had been entered and an ipod was taken. Through a check of the LeadsOnline system, it was found that the ipod had been pawned at Pawn America by Huber’s girlfriend. The officer’s property was successfully recovered with Pawn America’s cooperation.
Western Technical College Veteran's Day Program Thursday
