Sen. Ron Johnson in La Crosse, taking wide-range of security questions

Written by

Concerns ranged from drugs
to guns to terrorists attacks

Sen. Ron Johnson was at the Black River Beach Center in La Crosse today talking national security.

Law enforcement, city council members and the public were invited to ask him questions.

One 80-year-old La Crosse resident said, like many of her friends, she has bought guns to feel safe and is a concealed-carry owner.

Johnson says that's really sad when he hears 80-year-old people saying they have to strap up to feel safe.

Johnson also heard from several representatives from the La Crosse Police Dept. He asked what the top problems here are. The answers: illegal drugs, prescription drugs and making sure they are equipped in the event of a terrorist attack locally.
