Car hits La Crescent City Hall

Written by

Driver apparently accelerated just before collision

Somebody trying to park outside La Crescent City Hall went over the curb and slammed into the building on Tuesday morning.

City Hall was unscathed by the accident, but the front of the Nissan was crunched in, and the female driver had minor injuries.

La Crescent police chief Doug Stavenau says in 20 years, he hasn't seen anyone drive into the City Hall wall before.
The woman driving the Minnesota car was taken from the scene by Tri-State Ambulance.

A male passenger was not hurt.
