Best Western Plus part of La Crescent Legion Hall renovation plans

Written by

LA CRESCENT, Minn. — The project to renovate the La Crescent Legion Hall now includes a specific hotel nearby.

The goal is to have a Best Western Plus open by May 1, 2019 and be part of a community meeting center near Hwy. 61.

"The hotel group needs 10 months to a year to build and fix it out all out to get ready for opening," Don Hill, La Crescent treasurer of the community hall project, said.

The $3 million project was announced late last summer. The hotel proposal is for 60 rooms, plus a number of suites to go with an indoor pool, whirlpool, fitness room, outdoor tennis courts and business center.

The Legion will have space in the new facility to use for meetings and events without having to own the building and pay taxes on it.
