Who owed the most tax money in La Crosse County, 10 years ago?

In January of 2008, a company called Riverview had the biggest overdue tax bill in the county...about $91, 000.  Riverview had owned the Hampton Inn and the neighboring Country Kitchen near Rose Street.  ORC Industries was number 2 on the list, with a tax bill of $52,000.  Not far behind was the owner of the Mons Anderson house on Cass Street.
 
The Packers were trying to get to the Super Bowl for the first time in a decade.  On January 12th, Green Bay, led by Brett Favre, defeated Seattle to earn the right to host the NFC Championship game at Lambeau Field.  Tickets for that playoff game were said to be selling for around $7500.
 
"The Celebrity Apprentice" was one of the popular reality shows on NBC that winter, with businessman Donald Trump deciding which famous contestants should be hired or fired.  One TV critic said rock musician Gene Simmons and Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci were among the "has-beens" included in the latest line-up of "Apprentice."
 
And the Tribune had a front-page story about a "local radio news reporter" who was traveling to New York to appear on "Good Morning America," to talk about his unusual memory skills.  (That would be WIZM's Brad Williams.)  Ten years ago, 2008, yesterday in La Crosse.
