Victims Of Mindoro Crash Were At Bar Before Police Chase

Drinking and speeding apparently combined to cause a crash that killed three men, following a police chase near Mindoro last month...

A La Crosse County Sheriff's Department report says Thomas Storandt and Joel Kirchner were dead at the accident scene, while Joshua Koss still showed some signs of life when emergency workers arrived. All three had been thrown from a pickup that may have crashed at a speed close to 100 miles an hour. A sheriff's deputy says the truck sped away when he tried to stop it, after the driver burned rubber in an alley. The deputy believes the men tossed cans and cups of beer out of the truck during the chase. The three had spent much of the afternoon at a Mindoro bar before the chase and accident.
