A Delay Possible for Proposed Utility

A storm water utility could go back on the burner for another six months in La Crosse. A city council committee wants to study the issue longer before making a call on what would amount to a fifty dollar annual fee for each residence in the city. City council member Andrea Richmond thinks the utility as proposed treats homeowners unfairly.   She wants the utility charge to be based on actual area of impervious spaces on a property rather than every homeowner getting the same bill.   Richmond also wants homeowners to be able to earn credits against the water that runs off their properties.

Money raised by the proposed utility would pay to treat storm water and increase capacity in the city's storm water system.
