A Stabbing...A River Man...And A Slew Of Burglaries

The La Crosse Police Department is seeking the community’s help in locating a dangerous armed robbery suspect and also assist in solving a string of burglaries over this busy weekend. The La Crosse Police Department responded to 299 calls for service between Friday June 24th 5pm and Sunday June 26th 5pm, which represented a 20 percent increase in calls for service from the previous weekend.

Part of this increase included police responding to a stabbing incident in the 900 block of Vine Street where one suspect was taken into custody; rescuing an intoxicated individual from the Mississippi River; as well as responding to an armed robbery in the 1400 block of Liberty Street where one suspect is currently at-large and 6 different burglary reports. In regards to the robbery, the La Crosse Police Department has requested a warrant for the arrest of Kevin Vue 4/14/1994, age 17, a male Asian, the suspect of the armed robbery in the 1400 block of Liberty street. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kevin Vue should immediately contact the La Crosse Police. Kevin Vue should be considered ARMED and DANGEROUS.

Additionally, the following burglaries occurred over the weekend. Two residential burglaries in the 900 Block of So. 8 - No suspects at this time Residential burglary in the 300 Block of So 29th. – Home owner confronted the burglar who fled on foot. The suspect is described as a white male, mid to late 20’s or 30’s, approx 5’10” with a medium build, clean shaven, sandy colored hair, possibly balding wearing blue jeans and a dark blue long sleeve shirt who was last seen running west towards 28th Street around 2:00AM on 6/25/11 Business Burglary in the 300 block of Main Street. – No suspects at this time Business Burglary in the 1300 block of Caledonia Street – No suspect at this time Church Burglary in the 2500 block of Main Street – No suspect at this time.  In nearly all the burglaries, electronics and cash were to target of the thieves.

Homeowners should always keep their doors and windows secured when away from the residence, as well as leaving lights on to deter burglars. Neighbors observing any suspicious activity are encouraged to call the police.
