Shortly after 11pm, Brice Prairie EMS & Rescue was dispatched to a report of two people stranded on an island somewhere in Lake Onalaska. Six volunteers responded with two Brice Prairie Boats, and began a search of the lake. With assistance from La Crosse Emergency Dispatch, it was determined via cell phone coordinates that the two were on Rosebud Island.

A ground search was conducted by two teams from Brice Prairie and MedLink Air Helicopter. After an hour and a half search by MedLink the pair were found around 12:35am. Both people received minor cuts and scrapes, and returned home shortly after 1am.
