Spikes Pulled From Rails Stall Train Traffic in La Crosse
Trains were running a little late out of La Crosse last night. Blame it on booze. Appears to have at least something to do with why 54 year-old Gregory Davis decided it would be a good idea to pull spikes out of the rail bed by the northside Amtrak station. They say Davis had been drinking when he pulled out up to a dozen rail spikes. Davis told cops he pulled out the spikes because they were loose. He got charged and rail bosses had to shut down all traffic until the spikes were replaced and the tracks were inspected.
