Bliss Road to Open by Winter

A year after it washed out, La Crosse's Bliss Road is getting close to seeing some repairs. But with very little time left in the construction season, will the road to Grandad Bluff be repaired by winter? It will if the contractor wants all the money, says city public works boss, Dale Hexom. Getting the road done by the end of October is in the repair contract.  Depending, of course on the weather.   Hexom says if there's significant inclement weather between now and then, the contract allows for delay.   Otherwise Bliss should be ready to go by winter.

JR Strupp will get close to a half million dollars to fix the road. Most of that money will get reimbursed to the city from the federal government.
