Mo-Co Man Headed To Trial

The Monroe County man accused of beating a sheriff's deputy is headed to trial. Rodrigo Medina-Ferrer is charged with 11 counts including attempted first degree homicide.

At Friday's court hearing, a judge determined there was enough evidence to send the case to trial. Medina Ferrer is accused of escaping a Monroe County squad car following a domestic abuse incident, breaking his handcuffs and beating Sergeant Scott Perkins in the head.....severely cutting his eyes and face.

He's being held in the Monroe County Jail on a $10 thousand cash bond. He'll be arraigned later this month.
