No Movie Boom In Wisconsin

THE BADGER STATE IS STILL READY FOR ITS CLOSE-UP...ANY TIME HOLLYWOOD WANTS TO CALL.

BUT MOVIE MAKERS HAVEN'T BEEN CALLING LATELY...NOT SINCE A FILM INCENTIVE PROGRAM WAS CUT OUT OF THE STATE BUDGET. THE HEAD OF THE LA CROSSE VISITOR BUREAU, DAVE CLEMENTS, HOPES THE NEXT GOVERNOR WILL WANT TO RESTORE THAT PROGRAM. DAVE SAYS THE MOVIE 'FORT MCCOY' BROUGHT SOME EXTRA TOURISM BUSINESS TO THE REGION WHEN IT WAS MADE TWO YEARS AGO.

CLEMENTS WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TO SEE LA CROSSE MAGAZINE DO A COVER STORY ABOUT THE FILMING OF 'FORT MCCOY.' THE SMALL-BUDGET FILM IS SUPPOSED TO BE RELEASED LATER THIS YEAR.
