Sewer Rate Increases in La Crosse Likely on Hold

Looks like water and sewer customers in La Crosse will catch a break in the coming year.

Water utility manager Mark Johnson is asking the city council to put off implementing the second of three sewage rate increases. The money from the higher rates was to go to pay for several sewage management projects but those projects just aren't ready to get underway.

Last year was the first of the sewage rate increases that will eventually increase rates about 27% over 2009 levels.
