Xcel Says Critics Wrong About Need for CapX2020

Critics say there's no need for huge powerline project that's planned to some through La Crosse.   They say the Capx2020 line fills a need for electrical power that doesn't exist.   Xcel energy's Tim Karlsgaard denies that.  He says the 345 kilovolt line will significantly beef up the whole midwest grid.   For all electricity providers

The La Crosse county board is currently determining whether to support the half billion dollar power line project.  But neither state nor federal regulators need the county's okay to proceed with the line.
