School Union Has Concerns About Handbooks

School District of Lacrosse teachers will be working under some new rules for the 2012-13 school year. With state law now allowing teachers' unions to only collectively bargain wages, Lacrosse school officials have been developing a handbook for teachers to address areas that were previously under a collective bargaining agreement. WIZM'S Dan Deicher has more.

Instead of union contracts, Wisconsin teachers now have to abide by handbooks which will serve in lieu of contracts for public school employees. What's in the handbooks is of concern to the Lacrosse Education Association. President Ed Ludwig addressed some of those concerns last night at the board meeting.

Since the district extended contracts for a year.....handbooks won't have to be completed until the end of June.......because they will go into effect on July 1st.
