Wisconsin Wages Losing Ground Against Nation
Got that feeling that everyone is earning more money than you? If you're in Wisconsin, comparing yourself to other wage earners around the nation, you could be right. A new report from the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance says the average wage in Wisconsin is nearly 14% less than the national average and lower than thirty other states. The state is losing ground, as well; the Alliance says forty years ago, Wisconsin wages were ranked at 22nd in the nation. Pay is lower in almost every industry but especially finance, information, and real estate.
