Another Winona Fire

Did Winona police catch an aronist? That may come out over the next couple of days with the arrest of a man this morning at a fire at his house.

The Winona Fire Department was called to 559 E. Front Street around 12:15 this morning for a fire in the home. Firefighters put the kitchen fire out in about 20 minutes. They stayed on scene for about 2 and a half hours. Firefighters were called back to the same house just after 4:00 a.m. and found the home was fully engulfed in flames, which were extending to one of the neighboring homes.

A man living in the home was arrested by Winona Police at the scene, but why he was arrested.....police are not saying. The man was being held in the Winona County Jail at the time of the second fire. Winona has seen 3 fires in a three block area the city in the past six weeks and police say they think arson was involved in those three.
