Sparta Arsonist Back In Court

A man who tried to burn down a Sparta convenience store now faces 71 years in prison if convicted on 6 charges. 38 year old Bradford White made a court appearance this morning in Monroe County court.

White, apparently upset that Fast Eddie's in Sparta would not serve him alcohol a week ago because he was drunk, is accused of going back to the store late that night....crashing his car into the front doors...stealing over $2500 in alcohol and then setting the place on fire. White faces charges of arson, armed burglary, criminal damage to property and reckless endangerment with a weapon. He is in jail on a $20 thousand cash bond.

The grocery side of the store sustained serious damage while the liquor side had to be wiped out due to health department concerns. White will be back in court in January.
