Dam Work On The Horizon

Some dams in the area may be getting facelifts or torn down completely. Fifteen publicly owned dams throughout Wisconsin could get a total of three and a half million dollars to fix, replace, or remove them. The DNR says the dams have the biggest need for outside grants because of the risk they pose, and the communities' lack of ability to do the needed work.

The local governments that own the dams must now submit details to the D-N-R on what they plan to do.

The local dams are located in Juneau, Crawford and Trempealeau Counties.
