Onalaska Thefts On Rise
This morning the Onalaska Police Department received numerous reports of burglaries occurring during the previous night. All reports were of garage entries where access was gained through the service doors. Though most of the reports indicated that though the service doors were locked when the entries occurred none of the doors had a deadbolt lock engaged, making the lock easier to break in.
The entries all occurred in the area bounded by Quincy and Vilas and 6th North and 10th North. Items reported stolen included smaller electronics such as GPS and Satellite radios, along with change and jewelry. Police are telling people to keep all doors locked.
Onalaska Police Chief Jeff Trotnic says if you leave your garage door opener in your vehicle make sure that it’s locked and not easily visible. An unlocked car with a garage door opener is an invitation for thieves to enter your garage. If anyone has any information pertaining to these burglaries please contact the Onalaska Police Department immediately.
