Scammers Still At It

Crooks are still calling people's homes and are posing as state workers trying to get your personal information.

Consumer official Sandy Chalmers say the imposters will claim they're from Medicare or an insurance firm and they'll ask for personal information like Social Security or bank account numbers. Chalmers say reputable firms won't do that and you should never give personal information over the phone until you're the one making the contact, and you know who you re dealing with.
