Repeat Drunk-Driver Avoids More Prison Time

He's already been to prison on other charges...but a La Crosse man can avoid more prison time if he can keep himself from driving drunk again.

Twenty-three-year-old Jared Hellerud will get some jail time and probation for his third drunk-driving arrest. Judge Scott Horne sentenced Hellerud today, and urged him to get treatment for an alcohol problem.  Hellerud had two children under five years old in the car with him when he was stopped for driving drunk in December. He tells the judge that he has made poor decisions and wants to be a productive person.
