Marsh Transfer Part of Long Standing Plan

The only reason the city of La Crosse and the DNR are talking about a land transfer right now is because of the argument over a north south road through the city that started nearly two decades ago.

The DNR's Craig Thompson was part of the talks that led to the city council adopting a plan to hand over the city's marsh land in response to the threat of road getting built through the marsh.  He's now urging the city to follow through with that plan now that road plans are starting to simmer again.
