Local Service Agencies Work Together To Fight Child Abuse

Unemployment, lack of education, having a single parent in a home...

All of those conditions can be factors leading to child abuse. And two family service agencies in La Crosse are working together on a program to deal with those risk factors. Mike Boehm, the CEO of the Family and Children's Center, says only about one-third of the local families that could use those services can get access to them now.

The "Partnership for Families" also includes the Parenting Place on Green Bay Street in La Crosse. The project will help those organizations visit the homes of families where children could face abuse.
