Oil Prices Just A Part Of Rising Air Fares

The steady increase in oil and gas prices this year is being felt by airline travelers as well as drivers.

From Friedman's Hobbit Travel in La Crosse, agent Dave Friedman is seeing air fares rise by about 100 dollars in a very short time. He says some of that can be blamed on lower ridership and the practice of adding charges onto a ticket.

Friedman says plane tickets might be lower if there were more competition among companies...but mergers and bankruptcies are reducing the number of active airlines.
