Biden In Minnesota
(AP) Vice President Joe Biden has given Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar a fundraising lift and is vouching for her as the type of ``gutsy'' leader Washington could use more of. The vice president spent a couple of hours Wednesday in Minneapolis, headlining a major fundraiser for Klobuchar. The first-term senator is standing for re-election in November. Addressing the hotel audience of 350 people, Biden mentioned Klobuchar's votes for things like the auto industry bailout as an example of her ``gumption'' given the unpopularity of the move at the time. The fundraiser was Biden's only Minnesota event. It was open to people giving between $125 and $10,000. The Republican National Committee issued a statement critical of Biden before the Klobuchar event but there was no organized GOP presence outside the hotel.
