UW System President Wants More Money Help For Students

The interest rates on federal student loans will double this summer, unless Congress votes to block that from happening...

A House vote planned for Friday would shift money from the Obama health care plan to the student loan system. The man in charge of the U-W system, president Kevin Reilly, says high student debt is 'intolerable,' and he wants colleges to find more ways to offer financial aid to students.

Reilly's leadership of the university system is appreciated by the U-W-L student senate. That group honored Reilly on Wednesday with its annual award for advocates of higher education.
