Graffiti Vandals Could Get Tagged With Stiff Fines Under Proposal

Graffiti vandals could face steep fines in La Crosse soon.  The city council this week is deciding on a new ordinance that allows for a thousand dollar fine for tagging a building for a first time offense.  Two thousand dollars for subsequent offenses.  Sorely needed to address a growing problem says city planner Larry Kirch

Part of the new ordinance gives property owners 24 hours after getting notice to remove graffiti or have city crews do it for them and pay the cost.
