City Burn Ban Continues
Nearly two weeks after a burn ban was put into place in La Crosse, the fire department says it will remain. Despite a little bit of rain over the week-end, the fire department says the burn ban will have to stay in place because of the excessively dry conditions in the city. All of La Crosse county is in a zone of Very High fire danger, according to the DNR, while counties just to the south and east are considered to be in an Extreme fire danger zone. The La Crosse burn ban includes fireworks and outdoor fire pits while charcoal and gas grills are still allowed for cooking.
