Banquet Facility at Forest Hills Still Has Uncertain Fate

The fate of a historic building in La Crosse is still up in the air.

The banquet facility at the Forest Hills golf course has already been designated for the wrecking ball, but some members of the city's park board have asked for numbers on possibly preserving the building that dates back to the early 20th century.  City park and rec director, Steve Carlyon says the essential question to answer is whether it would be cheaper to tear down the building and build new or renovate what's in place.  Carlyon says a new building would need to handle groups of around 150 but probably would not involve any kind of restaurant.
