Tomah Man Dragged......One Man Busted For Truck Theft

A 66 year old man was dragged along a Tomah road today after someone tried stealing his truck.

Tomah Police say a 66 year old man had gone into the Tomah Cash Store and when he returned to his truck, he saw a man in the driver’s seat. The man attempted to remove the suspect from the vehicle and as he did, the suspect, Robert Engh, started the vehicle and drove off with the man dragging behind. The victim was dragged with the vehicle to the parking lot of the Tee Pee Supper Club, where he was thrown to the ground as a result of the suspect’s erratic driving.

Police say they had seen James Engh approximately fifteen minutes earlier. Approximately twenty minutes later, the Monroe County Sheriff’ Department located Engh in a construction area  and after a short foot pursuit......Engh was taken into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to the hospital and was later released with non-life threatening injuries. Engh was referred to the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office on the charges of Robbery, Operating a Motor Vehicle without the Owner’s Consent, Reckless Endangering Safety and three counts of Bailjumping.
