Alternate Side Parking Experiment May Survive After All

La Crosse's great alternate side parking experiment might not be dead after all. The city council has voted to reconsider getting rid of a controversial ordinance that allowed for a special area around UWL that allowed cars to stay on one side of the road during the winter with drivers only having to move after a special notification from the city. Problem was, nobody moved the cars. After two years, the experiment was largely considered a failure. But the council will take another look at the idea in a month to see whether there's any way to make the plan work that hasn't been tried already.
