Rent Expected Next Year for UWL Display
It's certainly been neighborly of the city of La Crosse to allow UWL's symbol to get put on top of Grandad Bluff every year in the fall. Next year, that bit of neighborliness will come at a price. The city plans on charging the university two hundred dollars a day to have the brightly-lit L on the bluff. With the alumni association, Jane Spencer says negotiations are still underway about the charge but something will likely get worked out with the symbol
The city wants to charge rent to the university to offset the cost of creating a special mount for the display as well as the electricity to light it.
