Billings Says Having 2nd Convention Might Be Advantage For Dems
When the two major parties have their national conventions in presidential years, the party that's out of the White House gets to go first.
So, the Republicans got their head start in Tampa last week. But one local delegate to the Democratic convention, Jill Billings, says there may be an advantage to going second. The La Crosse state rep says her party could address issues the GOP didn't say much about, such as the war in Afghanistan. Billings tells WIZM's La Crosse Talk that the Democrats will push a message this fall that if you work hard, and play by the rules, you can do well.
