Weekend Rainy Spell Should Bring Greener Grass

Half-an-inch of rain may not seem like a lot...but it's better than we've seen lately in La Crosse.

The National Weather Service says the city of La Crosse had 52-hundredths of an inch of rain since Friday, with most of it falling Saturday when storms rolled through the area. Meteorologist Dan Jones says that should help turn the grass green, and bring more leaves out on the trees. La Crosse has had just an inch-and-a-half of rain in April...which is more than an inch below normal for the month.  Winter snowfall also was below normal, by about four inches.
