Schaffer Blames Sister For Getting Him Charged In Double Murder
'I didn't do it, I swear...'
Larry Schaffer said that in a Sparta courtroom yesterday, just before being given a 20-year prison term for the murders of Kale Kvistad and Connie De George. Schaffer's sister, who had been abused by him, has told police she witnessed the shootings 10 years ago. But district attorney Dan Cary says the woman might not have been a reliable witness during a trial. At sentencing on Tuesday, Larry Schaffer called his sister a 'sociopath' who falsely accused him of the double murder. Judge David Rice says he accepted the plea agreement, because he was confident that Cary had the evidence to convict Schaffer.
